Quick fuel line questions
Just rebuilt my 350.
.030 over
Flat top pistons
.480 lift 108lsa cam
ect...
My mechanical fuel pump was cracked from my original setup and I am in need of a new one. Looking at a 80gph pump.
My question is my original pump has 3 lines. The new pump has only 2. One inlet/outlet.
Can I eliminate my return? How can I work this out with an aftermarket pump?

Re: Quick fuel line questions
Did the car originally have a mech only fuel pump? Was there ever an intank electric pump? If so, was that pump ever removed?

Re: Quick fuel line questions
I dont think so its an 85' iroc.
I bought the car without a motor, so Im not really sure what it had. The 350 I bought had a stock carter (I belive) fuel pump with 3 lines. I hooked the 3 lines up the way they were supposed to and it ran fine for many miles.
Took the motor out rebuilt it and now I am in need of a new pump. 80gph should be fine for my setup ~380hp
I was told I can just eliminate the return with a new style 2 port pump.

Well if the car was stock FI, then it had an electric intank pump. If it was stock CCCarb, theres a chance it had an intank electric helper pump. If its got that intank pump, it would need to be removed for the dead head mech pump. If the tank just had a carb pickup then the dead head would be fine.
