Its a 700R4 trans. Can anyone tell me where it is? Inside the trim on the inside or under on the trans? Are these simply to switch in and out? How can you tell if one is going bad (what symptoms should my bird have),

The lil plastic housing that has wires attached to it, which connected to the shifter itself--- under the center console.

Car will start in any gear selected if it's been wrongly re-adjusted or bad.

If you're in Park & it doesn't try to start, gently push the car til you hear a click or it stops rolling, which should Not be more than a few inches.

Make sure the selector is fully in Park

Haynes Manual has instructions how to re-adjust if that is the issue,
or maybe someone can tell you how. I can't find my manual!

Make sure the cable is selecting all the gears on the trans-- 1 person move the shifter thru the gears, 1 person watch the selector on the trans.

Do Not do this with the car running!!
