Oxygen Sensor Help!!!

I just bought an Oxygen Sensor. I need to install it but I cant get a wrench in there to take the old one out. I have a 1983 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with a 305 V8 with a Carburetor and a 700R4 Automatic Transmission. The Sensor is on the Drivers side and is attached to what I think is the Exhaust Manifold. Any help would be Appreciated.

Re: Oxygen Sensor Help!!!

Oxygen sensor socket (special socket with an opening down the side for the O2 pigtail to hang out of) plus about a foot long extension. Then you turn the ratchet out in front of the engine near where the power steering pump is.

Liberal overnight doses of penetrating oil (PB Blaster is my favorite) on the old O2 sensor prior to removal is recommended.

Advanced auto or Autozone will loan a socket. I had best results from going underneath and getting it off. Spray with PB blaster the night before.
