Mayday

First of all, Hi everyone. My name is Fred, from Quebec; Canada, and i'm the happy owner of a 1989 white Trans-Am WS6.
My primary language is french so i hope you guys will pardon me in advance for my poor grammar.
I got my T/A since 2004.

Now here is the story.

two years ago, i started having some problems with my TA. Indeed, some weird problems. At normal speed, while turning right, the engine was stalling. it wasnt that bad, and money was scarse, so i let it that way.

This year, after winter storage, the problem got worse. My engine was stalling when turning right, and at slow speed, when not cruising, the car was very rough.

So i took the car to a friend of mine who is in mechanics. he changed the aif filter, battery cables, shocks, breaks, etc, then... the gaz pump died.

I took the car to a garage. He replaced the pump. Cost me a lot and i'm not too rich... and then....

Well let's just say my problem is still there.

When i start my car, all goes fine. the car runs quitely and smooth. But as soon as i hit the gaz pedal, the engine stall. When the engine is stalling, if i quickly put away my foot off the gaz pedal, the engine is back to normal. And on the road, same pattern as before. If i turn right, immediate stall.

My trans Am have a 305 TPI code F with auto Trans.

Everything else is fine.

Everyone able to help me?

Thanks a lot.

Re: Mayday

Seems like an electrical short. Turning right causing a chafed-bare wire to swing left just enough to short on something.

Re: Mayday

check the big cable running from the battery to the starter. I nearly burned a Camaro up once because of a bare spot that formed and then the cable grounded out on the frame and it happened in a right hand turn too.
