89 RS> Just back from the shop

Just got my 89 RS 305TBI back from the shop.

They said they replaced the ignition switch as it just started smoking.

Any ideas what would cause this? They said they didnt know.

Any way to bypass that ignition switch and get it started? It is stuck somewhere it doesn't need to be and I cant afford a tow since I just paid a crap-ton to get it fixed.

Thanks,
Nate

the shop pays for the tow because it's warranty

there is a reason you took it to a shop and didn't fix it your self

it is spelled w-a-r-r-a-n-t-y

now you know 1 reason why shops need to charge what they do. They must warrant their work and they could have received bad parts or your problem could have been deeper than they first thought

really? Are you in the military or is your parent?

If you, find out from your sgt if that's BS. If your dad/mom, ask them to find out.

If they allow wreckers on base then get their butts out to you

I am in the military. Ive talked to the higher ups and the only allow certain companies on the base.

I got it taken care of today. I got a car dolly from uhaul....little did i know id have to remove the front lip. But finally got it to its final destination 3 hours later. Shop better stand by their poor work.
