coolant under valve cover

Hi,
coolant is bubbling- leaking from under valve cover, not a large leak, when engine is warm. Do I need a Head gasket? 305 TPI 127,000K
Thank you!

Re: coolant under valve cover

Probably not... at least, not for that reason... the head gasket isn't anywhere near there.

Watch for where the leak actually is. Suspect sources include cracks (duh), head bolts (all 17 on each side go DIRECTLY INTO the water jacket of the block), rocker studs (they usually go into the water jacket as well).

Re: coolant under valve cover

I don't think this is possible. If it is truly coming from under your valve cover, it would certainly be mixing with the oil. Are you sure it's not coming from the intake?
