for sale cheap
A thing is "worth" what someone is willing to pay for it. If those heads were "the best heads i can find without spending 1100 bucks for a pair of heads", they wouldn't be "cheap"; they'd be about $1099. The question then is, WHY AREN'T THEY? Why are they "cheap"?

Once you have THE answer to that question, you are ready to proceed.
If those heads don't have the accessory bolt holes in the ends, they won't fit your car. In fact, they won't fit ANY OTHER car made since the very early 70s, either. The reason they are cheeep is because THEY DON'T FIT CARS.
Pass. Keep looking.

Once again, stop and let that concept soak in. Then proceed.
The reason you don't see those motors WINNING RACES, is because THEY CAN'T. $$$ for $$$$, or parts list for parts list, a 350 or a 400 BUILT OUT OF THE SAME PARTS will stomp a 327 into the ground, every time, no questions asked, no other outcome possible, take it to the bank. It is a waste of money. Given that you can buy a roller-cam-equipped 350 short block core for about $100, it makes no sense whatsoever to build that ancient obsolete relic from the cave of a Neanderthal.
The basic hot-rod equation:
Fun = CID x $$$
It's just that simple. Hard to get any simpler, which maybe is why so many people don't get it: it's maybe too simple. It means, for any given amount of Fun, you can use either CID or $$$ to get there; or, for any given $$$, the more CID you put it with, the more Fun comes out; or, for any given CID and level of Fun, the less $$$ you need; and so on. It's just not that hard to figure out.
Throw that old thing away before you waste your hard-earned money on it, and use your money wisely instead of spending it on a 327.
