Where To Buy Replacement L98 Longblock

I need a new, stock, L98. Who sells decent replacements? Autozone has 2 options. Jasper probably has somethin. Either of them good? Any others?

And if you plan on asking why the hell I would want a stock L98, its because I dont race anymore. I just enjoy a good drive these days

Re: Where To Buy Replacement L98 Longblock

A few years ago I got a basic NEW assembled short block from GM.
I ordered it for a 96 chevy truck.
What did my 1200 bux get me? A 4 bolt block, cast crank, bearings,PM rods and Hyper pistons with rings all ready 2 put my stuff on and in it.
I just used all the old stuff from my stock motor..

I dont see any L98 motors at Paceparts.com (GM parts store) I remeber years ago they had them though. And if they're like Ford, their replacement parts are double the price of anywhere else

A good junk short block out of a truck will work fine.

Get a low-miles "Vortec" one, without the heads.
