1982 firebird with bad 2.5 ,need help finding new 2.5

I'm new to the third gen stuff and just got a 1982 firbird with the 2.5 and auto tranes but the motor is trash. I would like to put a new 2.5 in or maybe do a v8 swap. My question is what cars and truck can I get a running 2.5 from to use or if I do a v8 swap I have a few question on doing that to. I have done a lot of reading on this site and have got some good info but still need some more answers. I will be using a th350 trans if I do a v8 swap and I need to know if I need to get a new crossmember or move the stock one and if I do that do I need to do drive shaft work or not and so on. Any more advice would be great if there is more info that I could get that I havnt read already

Any S-10 can provide the 2.5, but later is better for the roller lifters. However, older heads are better for non-swirl-ports. You can put the older heads on the later blocks.
Doing the V8 swap is easy, you don't need to change the crossmember.
