Stalling
Stalling
I have a 1984 Firebird SE with a 2.8 litre V6 engine. Recently, engine turned over, but was hard to start. It finally started after a few seconds...drove for about 20 minutes...then engine suddenly stalled. I pulled over, waited a few seconds, then restarted engine without any problems. Car has been ok ever since. Could this be a fuel filter issue, or the beginning of a problem with my mechanical fuel pump? Battery and alternator are fairly new. Thanks.

Re: Stalling
if the car had been sitting for an extended period of time varnish could build up and cause the problem If your worried about it try replacing the fuel filter an see what the old one looks like might just be time for a tune up also depending on the milage
