MSD Pro Billet Distributor. Setting timing with included springs?
Hey guys... So I just installed my MSD Pro Billet dizzy on my 355, and am definitely not getting enough timing advance above idle. This has the centrifugal advance with vacuum assist. Anyways, it comes with a few sets of springs with different tensions to change this curve. Does anyone have experience with this, or a similar distributor that could shed some light on this part of the tuning process? If I advance my timing by rotating the distributor (and set it high for an idle) I feel a TON of extra power on the butt dyno but the car is hard to start and such, so I feel I definitely need more timing at higher RPMS, but keep the timing where it is at idle.
Thanks in advance guys!

Try the Fig 3 D combo to get the advance in sooner,
( can see that out of the box Fig 3 A , full advance not until 5500 )
If you have knock at higher revs ,change the advance stop bush to limit the total advance.
If it starts knocking at lower revs, change to a milder setup
Short of a dyno is trial and error until you get a combo that works

Thanks for the taking the time to pull up the manual for me. I guess it is a pretty self explanatory process, but your post actually helped me a lot. I suppose I was wondering if anyone had struggled to get the perfect combo before, but it is probably different for each application. My cam doesn't make much power over 5k so this is probably why my mid band performance is so marginal.
