Hello everyone, I have been having some problems with my car lately and it is driving me nuts. I am have the following problems. When I go to start the car, it's a little difficult to start it, sometimes I have to step on the gas. When I run the car for a while and stop somewhere, when I come back to start it, it will turn over for a few seconds but wont turn on I have to wait a little while, and then it will turn on but I have to step on the gas. The car is over heating when I'm driving it, even at night it will go up to 220. It idles rough, and sometimes it does this weird thing when idleing that it goes from 1000rpm to 500, back and for over and over again until I move, and when it happens at night I my lights will dim when it starts doing this, it's as if it's gonna turn off.

Please give me some tips people. I have an 86 z28, 305 TPI

 

sounds like a loose or dirty ground somewhere.

 

possibly a dirty IAC also; as it sounds like its hunting for idle.
