Loud Knock sound in gas tank ONLY when engine off (15mins after engine off)

Loud Knock sound in gas tank ONLY when engine off (15mins after engine off)
hey there so other day i was sitting in my car messing with a new cd deck and heard a loud knock sound in the rear of my car, sounded like from the gas tank but i could be wrong. Now i notice that it happens quite a bit. It only happens with the car is off and never right when turned off. i usually here the first "knock" around 20-30mins after engine off. it doesnt "knock knock knock knock" its just like a loud one time sound. you cant hear it outside of the car only inside. i dont have any engine problems other than my faulty fuel injector but i doubt that is from a "knocking" in my gas tank.... or ? thanks for input all.
