Will they work together? Would like to put a GM hot cam in my TPI 350 car with all other mods to go with it but unsure if I can with TPI.

i also have a question, im new to this site, i have a 1991 camaro with a weak 305 and im puttin a 350 in it what kind of cam should i get for all kinds of low end torque could anyone give me a direct link it needs to be under $250 and a recommendation for a tbi intake manifold and rocker arms, i wanna build it up to 400 horses its already started with headers and does anyone know where to get 50cc heads or is there something better out there, i basically need a whole plan to get horse power naturally aspirated, i wanna spend about 1 to 3 grand over time any ideas?
The LT4 HOT cam isn't really that big of a cam. What you do need to worry about is whether or not your stock iron L98 heads can support the lift of that cam. I believe that the stock heads will have the retainers bottom out in the .470-.480 range. I'm not sure what the HOT cam lift specs are, I believe .492, so you definitely have to check that out. You will also need valve springs that can match that cam as well. I'm running a .555 lift cam in my car but I have loads of clearance because I have Trickflows.
My plans were to put some AFR aluminum heads on at the same time so the valve springs should be covered. I was just unsure if a TPI car would do ok with this cam as most say its ment for a carbed application.
I think there are some guys on the board that run the LT4 HOT cam with a long tube runner TPI setup. Do a search for them, I don't think there are many complaints. There are even a few other people who run something bigger. I think it would be fine, but the TPI would keep you from realizing the upper rpm band unless you are running a really high flowing setup. You will need to re-tune your computer though. Any cam would require a re-tune of the ECM anyway. Not really that hard to learn.
Thanks Jekyll this is the motivation I have needed to move this project forward all these posts i read that are related to this topic contradict each other, but I see cars on you tube with the hot cam and TPI all the time. I'm now just working on getting my stock set up working good then I will be pulling the engine next winter for the rebuild
