Frustrated to no end, and need some advice
Let me start off by saying my car is a 91 Z28 with a 305 TPI and 700R4. Block was swapped at some point for an 89 350. I recently swapped to carb(a Holley 4165, 4 barrel double pumper that i took off a 79 Formula) that i had professionally rebuilt. Also has brand new Edelbrock aluminum intake. We eliminated the smog pump and air injection tubes going into the manifolds. A year ago i replaced the fuel pump, and fuel filter. During the swap i also installed a Mr. Gasket Fuel Pressure Regulator, brand new out of the box. Set at 6 psi, i drove the car about 6 miles and parked it, and it ran better than ever but alittle rich at idle. From that point on i have only been getting 2 1/2 tp 3 PSI through the regulator. What is going on!?!?! Everyone says the fuel pump or vapor lock, but i have tried letting it run with gas cap off for ventilation, and fuel pump is 1 year old. Please HELP, or else i will be forced to sell....
