Re: do i need a new fuel pump

Can you tell us some specifics like engine size and whether it is carbureted, TBI, or TPI?

Re: do i need a new fuel pump

TBI = throttle body injection and TPI = tuned port injection. Being it's a 3.1 you probably have injection of some sort, but not TPI. Don't know much about the V6's, but to rule out the fuel pump, disconnect the fuel line from the engine and attach a pressure gauge and check it. The correct pressure you can find in a service manual or a Chilton's or Haynes manual. If you don't have one of those, I recommend getting one. You can pick them up for about $20 at your local auto parts supplier. Could also be a fuel pressure regulator.
