Fuel Injector Harness

I just replaced the head gasket on my Z28 and now it won't start. I made the mistake of not marking the fuel injector connectors when I took them off and now I'm not able to identify which plug goes on which injector (esp. injectors 6/8 and 5/7). The wires all seem to be the same color. Is there any way to identify which injector plug belongs to which injector? Thanks.

Re: Fuel Injector Harness

What is batch? Don't the injectors have to fire at a certain time?

Batch= more than one fire at a time.
In this case, the 4 on pass fires then the 4 on driverside fires. 4 at a time.. Vice versa bla bla bla..

Re: Fuel Injector Harness

Forgive my ignorance on this, but do I understand what you're saying--that all the injectors on one bank fire at the same time (e.g. 2, 4, 6, 8 then 1, 3, 5, 7)?

Re: Fuel Injector Harness

Great. Thanks. I guess I can rule out the fuel injectors. One peculiar thing I noticed is that the fuel pump stays on for about 30 seconds after a failed start attempt, where I think it usually goes off after about 5 seconds. I'm not sure why. Is it possible to cross the fuel supply and return lines on the intake manifold or are they idiot proof too?

Re: Fuel Injector Harness

Okay, I checked the fuel pressure at the fuel rail while cranking and it's at 45 psi. I checked and rechecked the configuration of the plug wires on the distributor and the spark at each plug and they're all getting spark. Set the #1 piston to top dead center with the whistle tool and the timing mark and the rotor is pointing right at the #1 cylinder. All I'm getting is a couple of cylinders firing and then it stalls.

Any ideas? This is so frustrating.
