World heads w/ 1.6 ratio rockers

Hey guys,

While i was in the process of assembling my new combo, i was looking into flow charts for my World S/R Torquer heads, and noticed that they recommend 'Pushrod holes Require Elongation if you are using 1.6+ ratio rocker arms".. I planned on using 1.6's, is this a long shot or will it cause issues down the road? Cause ive used these heads before with 1.6 rockers, and never knew about this recommendation...

Would appreciate anyones input

Re: World heads w/ 1.6 ratio rockers

Not much to say...

THINK about "rocker ratio". It's the distance from the stud to the valve, divided by the distance from the stud to the push rod seat, right? Well the rocker mfr didn't change the first distance when they sold you the rockers; so what do you suppose they did? Right: they SHORTENED the arm of the rocker between the stud and the push rod seat. Meaning, there is now a possibility that the hole through the head for at least one push rod will not extend close enough to the rocker stud. If you run them that way, that push rod and/or rocker will be DESTROYED very rapidly, as well as making an ungodly tick that will make you think you need to adjust your valves but no amount of adjusting will EVER fix it, up until the whole setup eats itself.

Pretty extremely common, really. Any competent racing machine shop can knock that right out for you in a matter of minutes. Not yerbasic corner parts store machine shop (although some of those might surprise you); but, one that specializes in RACING machine work. Fix you right up.
