Parts Washer Chemical??
OK I am not sure this is the right place but I searched and did not find any answers..... I bought a new parts cleaner from harbor freight while they had their big sale, but, I bought their supposed grease cleaner that I added to 10 gallons of water. According to the bottle this should take grease off anything. Well it does little to car parts. So I was wondering what others may use in their parts washer. It has the small pump that lets me spray fluid on the parts.. So now I want something that works.. I was thinking kerosene or diesel. Any help would be appreciated....
Thanks, John

When I worked at an electric motor company a while back, we used paint thinner in our parts cleaning tank. Clean the junk right off. The boss would go to walmart and buy about 10 gallons of it. You can use mineral spirits also but I think its more expensive.

Varsol
I worked in a place that used a water based bio cleaner. I think washing parts in a sink of hot water did a better job at cleaning than that junk did. Give me a good solvent so I can clean a greasy, oily part the first time with very little effort.
Mineral spirits is the closest thing to a good parts cleaner solvent.
