New fuel pump. Dumb question?
So I got my new fuel pump today, it's a Walbro F20000169 255lph, and I painstakingly took out my tank today. What a pain in the dick. LoL
Anyhow, I pull out the fuel assembly from the tank, and took off the old pump. Now I know how to do the wiring, but the fuel connection is what really gets me.
Here's a picture of the old stuff (right) and new stuff (left):

So should I use the old hose with the old connectors? Or the new hose and cut it (it's too long), and use the clamps?
The problem with either method, the line that connects to the fuel pump does NOT have a flared end, and I'm worried about the line collapsing/leaking with the 45psi instead of the old 5psi.
I would normally trial and error this myself, but...I never want to remove this thing again. O_o...
Also, will my old fuel line leak since I'm bumping up the pressure from 5 to 45? I'm talking about the connectors.

Re: New fuel pump. Dumb question?
My idea is to use a brake line flaring kit to create a flare on the fuel line coming from the pump, then buy some FI hose, slip it over the pump/metal line and use the clamps.
Probably what I will do if no one has a better idea. I just had such a terrible experience removing that tank in a one car garage, .... I don't want to chance having to remove it again. Makes me wonder how much I can get a plastic fourthgen for a pick n pull, and somehow fabricate it over.

Re: New fuel pump. Dumb question?
Hey buddy I will take a shot at it since I just did this 6 months or so ago. I DID replace all the old items with the new. As far as the connections, I would use the clamps supplied & you should be fine.
The other question of the hose holding the 45psi, you will have to call the manufacturer & ask what the psi limit on the new hose is. If it's not up to the task, get a new fuel line cut to lenth that will hold the pressure. I hope this helps.
I also did the swap myself, so I know I would rather "walk on fire in hell", than change the pump again...LOL. So I took my time to make sure all was good & that I used the right stuff. Do your research & do it once! Good luck!!!!!
