what stall speed and size
I know very little about trans this is what I got. 700R4 3.27 9 bolt 3400lbs zz4 can hsr (on hold) 113 vette heads, retro lifters, 1.6 or 1.5 idk what's best, and a shift kit oh its a 305. Might run a 100shot. I will use it for dd and week end racer. Stock 48mm tb with air foil and 24# injectors, shorty headers.

Re: what stall speed and size
Assuming it's the original 1987 700R4 (30-spline input shaft), and from the info/objectives supplied so far, I'll say go with a Yank SS3600 converter: www.converter.cc They're not cheap, but they're the best street/strip converter of all the brands I've used. For a budget converter, still good quality and plenty to handle your hp, go with an Edge 3200-3400: www.edgeracingconverters.com
They tend to be slightly looser than the Yanks, thus the lower stall recommendation.
I have no idea what hp to expect out of those 113 heads; I don't expect too much out of any castings older than the Vortecs.
That ZZ4 cam has high exhaust lift; make sure you have adequate seal-to-retainer clearance, as well as coil-bind margin in the springs. Run 1.6 intake and 1.5 exhaust if you can. If forced to stick with the same all around, go with 1.5's.
If you get everything right, you should be low 13's motor and low 12's on the 100 shot.

Re: what stall speed and size

Since you're looking for used, here are some more brands that I know from personal experience are good quality:
Coan
ProTorque
Vigilante (Precision Industries)
PTC (the one in Alabama)
Just make sure you get a 9-1/2" or 10" size. The 12" converters don't gain very much and are an outright bad idea over about 2400 rpm stall.
