Fuel guage misreading
So I had to push the car out of the intersection while making a left hand turn. This is how I made my latest discovery. I had just over half a tank yesterday. I put in 30 litres and I stopped there, could have put more. I went and kicked the crap out of the car. I was down to just above 3/4 when it stalled, and shut off. I cranked it a few times and got a sputter, then nothing. It would just crank. I noticed the in tank pump was very loud, high pitched and echoey sounding. I'm sure it was out of fuel. Still read above 3/4. I tossed in 4 litres. The pump then bogged down and sounded normal. Car fired up and I was able to drive it home. Any idea how to trace this down to the guage or sending unit?
