Ok so here we go again...
Heads:
Procomp
Combustion Chamber: 64cc
Intake Runner: 210cc
Intake Valve: 2.02"
Exhaust Valve: 1.60"
Intake:
LT1 modified to accept a small cap HEI
Stock 4 bolt bottom end
Tranny:
2200 stall
700r4 w/ constant pressure valve body
high friction clutches
Rear:
4th gen w/ 3:42's
I want something borderline excessive and with a wide power band...
Start the brawl lol

I like 210s on 350s.
You now need a cam, converter and intake to make it work. Do some trolling around on LT1 forum and you will find a combo with the bumpstick you need. The truth is out there..... lol

Now, by excessive I meant with my stock bottom end (I'm building a splayed cap, forged 355 for this to go on later)... I know, seems *** backwards but it tis what tis sir... I'm thinking something like 280/290 .525ish lift

Thats close to the old "big" SLP cam. With 210s you may want to push the lift up to around 6-650 or even a bit more to take advantage of the head....

Re: Want your opinion on a knock stick..

Guys run .525 lift on stock LT1 heads that only flow 165 ??
Round here we talk lift @ 0.050 ;
not the maker's advertised duration which means little in the real world

If I go to a 600 ish lift cam that means I've got to put a stall in way above what I have... I DD this car lol

Re: Want your opinion on a knock stick..
Its not the lift so much but the duration. I drive a solid roller cam and 4500rpm converter on the street. Not daily but quite a bit.

I used that Camquest... When i looked at the power for the cam selection that I made w/ the LT1 intake, it was LOWER than the same setup w/ the TPI intake.... WTF?? lol

Re: Want your opinion on a knock stick..
LT1 intake those heads and good springs... figure 6500rpm peaks, shift by 7K to get the most out of it.
Stock bottom is a no no so you will have to cam this 2 times...once for stock bottom and once for forged...
OR you can just set your limiter to 6500 and run around for now with big cam and wait til you get the forged bottom in to really open it up.
Either way add about 1500 rpm to torque converter stall you have. Could use 3.73-3.90's with 26" tire.
Stock bottom end cam I'd go no larger than 230/236 on a 110, mid high .500's lift. LT1 intakes like tight lsa cams. Comp makes a XE cam like that. Actually advanced inductions has this cam...Ai 226 / 234 - .566" / .566" - 110 LSA . Very nice cam for a stock bottom end with good heads.
They also have this Ai 230 / 238 - .566" / .566" - 110 LSA. If you didnt want to tight of an LS1, there are many good shelf cams in the 112-113 lsa range that would be more stable to tune and idle with.... 280XFI, 282HR XE grind from comp, etc. They should all pull to mid lower 6000's rpm. Shift by 6400-6500 on stock bottom. Depending on the lobe design, a 230 deg lobe may pull even higher than 6500. Thats why its the largest I'd go and actually would lean to the 224 deg cams.
Built bottom end, with good compression, I'd go something like 236/242 or there abouts, near .600" lift and on a tight 108-110 lsa. Thats around the old Lloyd Elliott LE3 cams, the largest package he offered. In a 355 it would pull to 7K rpms. Made big power up top. Good match for the 210cc heads. Needs alot of stall and gear and compression but will run extremely hard with a ported LT1 intake.
Powerband isnt super wide with the tighter lsa cams but they do come on strong in the mid range and run good towards peak.
Wider power band you can try the old CC306 grind from comp thats very popular in the Lt1 world. GM/Crane 847 grind is a big cam mostly used on 383's but works well on 355's with good heads/compression. Wide duration splits give broader power curve.
EDIT: this would be a pretty rough DD car... if you want a DD cam, dont go over 230 deg on any setup. Actually I'd run the AI 226/234 and be very happy with that

I'm thinking the AI 226/234 would do me good... I looked at the website and it took me to LS1tech with a dyno chart... The dude didn't have the setup that I will and he still made great DD power ~350rwhp I believe... Thanks for the info!

Re: Want your opinion on a knock stick..
With your heads and that cam, it should make 375whp or more. I've seen/heard that cam run in a 96 z28 and it went high 11's at 116mph with ported LT1 heads. Pretty tame too...alittle lopey but driveable for sure.
Sounds like something around that size would do you well even tho the heads would WANT a larger cam to get the most out of them.
GO LT1 intake if you can do the conversion...or buy a miniram/stealthram/proflo xt. TPI is not gonna like the heads/cam as much. Its gonna choke them down.
