i know this has been asked alot but cant find my answers im lookin for cheap mods for my 87 firebird with a 305 tpi i found that the stock cam is
and the 96 lt1 cam is
a
so my question is is how much of a diff will it make and will i have to do head work along with installing this cam and will i need a tune? i already have a bbk fuel pressure regulator on the engine and few minor mods and i know its a mild came but want to know everything before hand before just doing it

You're not gonna see a big difference in my opinion. You're gonna have to remove the rocker arms, push rods, intake, lifters, coolant, timing chain and gears, ect. for probably a few extra ponies. Instead of doing that, why not just upgrade your rocker arms to roller rockers with a 1.6 ratio? You'll get a few more ponies to the tune of 10-15, which I think is more than the LT1 cam will net you. I'd have a different opinion if this was a T.B.I. set up, but you've got T.P.I., so I think you'll see more power and less hassle from the rocker arm ratio change
