3 questions/issues

Ok, so all of these questions pertain to my LG4 305, for the record.

1st. When I accelerate, mainly at higher RPMs, I hear a rattle like noise, a high pitched rattle in the engine bay area. initially several months back some of my friends said possible something with the exhaust. well I highly doubt that now, seeing as I completely overhauled my exhaust.

2nd. does anyone know what number I am supposed to set the timing light to (number wise) when doing the timing on my engine. we weren't sure if it is 34 or 32 and I don't know how big of a difference or issue that would cause.

3rd. when the car runs in the lower RPMs, primarily when I cranked it up first thing in the morning, it sounds almost like something is knocking. but as soon as i give some gas its not there (or I can't hear it)

Sorry for the long post. I'm just trying to get this thing running smooth and I'm trying to learn as I go. so thank you all who help/reply

more like 6 or 8
32 degrees is the total advance it gets all up when the dist advances itself

Re: 3 questions/issues

I'm not talking about how many degrees to retard or advance it. I'm talking about when I'm setting up the timing light what number to set the light to.

Re: 3 questions/issues

When Timing a car, I usually set the light at 0 degrees, then time the engine. I really don't use the dial on the light unless I can't find the timing on the factory timing marks, and I dont feel like taking the dist. loose.
