I'm nearing the end of my full engine gasket replacement project on my 89 2.8 , and have run into a small issue . On the injectors , there are plastic caps over the ends of the injectors , and they are cracked in several places . I bought the AC Delco kit of injector replacement hardware and , of course , no pintle caps come with the kit . In fact , the instructions with the kit make no mention of the caps at all , it just shows the new blue O rings being used .

So , ARE the pintle caps really needed ? And if so , where can they be bought ? (They are not listed at any of the auto parts stores I've checked )

 

Ok , so no one wants to talk about injectors ...... Got it .......


I'm all set anyway , since I found a place that sells the pintle caps separate from even the O ring kits .
