tps sensor

Ok so my car stalls when I hit the gas pedal, I fixed the gas leak and made sure everything was clean. I got advice to check tps sensor and how to check it. I hooked it up to meter and here is what it does. With the plug unhooked it reads a stable reading but as soon as I plug it in to the sensor the meter jumps off the charts and stays there and hitting the gas doesnt change anything. Is that bad?

Re: tps sensor

Something doesn't sound right; throttle close should be around 0.54, WOT should be around 5. Double check to make sure that you're testing the correct wires (no offense) and if you are, it sounds like the TPS is shot.
