recommended fuel injectors?

Well good evening everyone. I wanted to get peoples opinions on what fuel injectors i should get.

After countless hours of chasing my tail on this thing and getting frustrated, and throwing parts at it, I HOPE i have finally traced the problem to a bum injector.

The car is a 91 Z28 5.7L. I havent done ANY work to the engine yet as far as upgrades so everything is still stock.

My first question would be what are the factory injectors rating?

And next I want to get opinions and suggestions as to what injectors i should get to replace them.

I dont want to spend a fortune, obviously, but I figured i would install "better" ones than whats in there.

I read on here that 22lb would be about as high as i could go without having to get into tuning things. Is that correct?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

don't mess with fuel injectors unless you need to. They're not cheap, and they don't give you any power unless the rest of your motor "demands" it. There are much better ways to drop coin on things that actually give you power.

If those are the original Multecs in there, ANYTHING will be better than those. A set of Bosch III's in 22lb from Southbay or FIC would be the hot set up, IMHO provided you have a bad one. Have you ohm'd them yet?

FIC has some good stuff for an affordable cost. If you look around you can sometimes find some Bosch's for really cheap also if you know where to look. I haven't messed with Southbay.

I also think it's important to ask what the goals of the car are considering eventually it will most likely need a retune anyways if this is a "mod" car.. in which case - putting the meager extra towards bigger injectors would probably be a good idea for the future if it's not a dire need currently.

Re: recommended fuel injectors?

Hey guys thanks for the responses so far. I guess I should have been more clear at the beginning. I'm not trying to replace with the intention of adding performance. I've been dealing with bad idle and loss of power.

I've tested fuel pressure and everything checks out. I did ohm them and most were good but 1 injector was at about 2.3. So I know that ones toast. As obviously I want to do them all because I'm sure the rest are on their way out as well.

So Bosch 22lbs are a good replacement?
