2 quick questions concerning AiR system and rockers adjustment
2 quick questions concerning AiR system and rockers adjustment
Im replacing the injectors, and in the process have removed the A.I.R. system. I've now read a couple of posts saying that I need to have my prom reprogrammed to turn the A.I.R. off or I'm going to have an engine light. Is this true? Also, I've got the valve covers off to paint, with 82k on a 2nd owner engine that purrs, should I consider rocker arm adjustment (they're stock)? Thanks for your responses and thanks for all the great info in the site!

Not all the same
Fill in your profile
There is no feedback to the computer to say if AIR is working ( or even there ) or not
EGR is a different story

I removed the AIR (aka Smog Pump) on my 91 Z28 (305) and it runs perfect without it. Your biggest deal will be that you need to buy a AIR delete pulley to bolt in place of it and replace belt. There is two pulley design you can use.....one has usage of the stock serp and the other re-routes the belt pattern and uses a different belt. Either way, you really need a pulley in place.
