Code 43 questions
My car has been throwing code 43 for the last couple of days. It seems very intermittent too, like my SES light will come on for a few seconds and go off. I drive the interstate to work so that's when it happens mostly, however it has happened while getting up to speed on the highway. Not sure if this is related but I've noticed a small loss of power and every now and then while driving I'll have a major loss while accelerating for a few seconds then feels normal again. This happens while the SES light is off. I don't really feel a performance drop when the SES light comes on.
Before I just go and replace the knock sensor, should I check anything first? Could something else besides a bad sensor cause this error code? If I check the wiring, what values am I looking for to read on my multimeter?

Re: Code 43 questions
Helps to mention year and engine when asking ??? ( or fill in your profile ) , not all the same
A code is a fault in a system , not just that the item in that system is faulty; could be bad wiring , bad grounds
,a short ,anything in the whole system

Re: Code 43 questions
Thanks for the replies. I have a 1992 firebird Trans Am GTA with the 5.7 350. Vetteoz those are some great flowcharts, they will definitely come in handy!
