Hello I just got my first third gen. An 89 iroc z 3505 tpi. Car ran very strong when I got it. Idle would go up and down a few hundred rpms but still ran good under power ect. The guy I got it from had replaced the distributor and coil and plugs and wires. He told me it had four "weak" injectors. He said he replaced only one of them because it was shorted and told me it would be needing them. Well Iordered some from southbay yesterday. I just want to make sure you guys think its the problem. See the car would need the key turned on and off a few times and primed before it would start. When it ran. One day I was driving it, and it started running so rough it wouldn't go over 20 mph. Or idle and the tach was going crazy. I shut it off and it would not start back up. I let it sit for three days went out and it started fine and ran how it did when I bought it. I checked fuel pressure and spark and it was good. After I shut it off it wouldn't start back up. Would only fire with starting fluid. I guess im asking if I must just have another shorted injector and its not letting the computer pulse them? Any help /advice is appreciated.

If you had one injector that was shorted out, you more than likely have another.
When injectors need to be replaced, we recomend replacing all of them at once. If you have a problem with one, the rest are sure to follow.
Let us know how things work out after you install the injectors.

Thanks, im hoping they should be in Saturday. I ordered them on Tuesday. Got the 22lbc bosch 3s. If I do replace them and still no start is it likely I ruined the computer with the old injectors? Or something else?

unfortunatley if you are still having problems after replacing the injectors then you are going to have to look elsewhere for your problem

Well i got the injectors in and no injector pulse. did some checks and decided to take a look at the computer. I unplugged it and plugged it back in. vroom started right up. Not sure if the computer still had the injector banks shut down or what, guess it just needed reset. Very happy with the new injectors .
