So here's the story, I inherited this car from one of my deceased cousins, as I was the only one who had interest in it (his parents lived in NYC, wtf are you gonna do with a camaro there). Anyway, this thing's been butchered and hot rodded by an amateur. So here's the deal, I like the car and it was my cousin's dreamcar since he was a kid and yadda yadda. But I need to know what I have here, and google's not helping at all. Can't find a clearly marked stock picture to save my life. So this is a 1989 Camaro I-roc, originally 5.7l TPI, it's been converted to carb obviously. I know it's not the original block either, but does anyone know by eyeballing if it's even a chevy block that's in it? The powersteering resevoir looks like one of those old school racing ones, I didn't think they still did that in 89, but if anyone has any insight please. If you can eyeball tell the alternator is stock I'd like to know. same for the master cyclinder, was that the original stock design/placement? And anything else you can shed light on. I KNOW THE WIRING IN IT IS ATROCIOUS YOU DON'T HAVE TO TELL ME lol. He even had the fan hooked up to the ignition so it'd constantly run everytime you turned the key sigh.

That is a chevy small block, its not oem engine. A stock 89 should have center bolt valve covers, serpentine belt drive, small cap distributor.
