Will switching to vac advance distributor mess up converter lock up?

Im in the process of swapping in a 350 in my 86 TA on some what of a budget. My original CC distributor was broken during removal of the old engine and I was able to pick up a vacuum advance distributor on cheap and wanting to use it. I keep reading if you use a vacuum advance distributor you lose your torque convert lock-up but that's with a carb swap as well but im using the original intake and carb from the 305. Will I lose converter lock up with this distributor?
The engine is still on the stand so im trying to get everything straightened out before i drop the engine in a few weeks. Thanks for the help, this site has helped my greatly with my new project car!

I suspect if you don't have a CC dist then you no longer have a computer controlled engine ( same as a non CC carb swap ) because the computer relies on inputs from the CC dist

OK thanks for the help, I figured that would be the issue but i couldn't find a definite answer on the matter. I ordered a re manufactured CC distributor from classic industries for $120 so I wont lose torque converter lock-up.

There are several ways of controlling lockup without a computer like the early non CC carb cars did

But putting a computer distributor back in is the right thing to do if the computer carb is going to be used.
