Where to buy body fuel line?

Today I went to change the oil and fuel filter on my car. What should have been a 45 minute job turned into a 4 hour PITA when the 5/8 supply body line corkscrewed and popped a pinhole leak when I broke the fuel filter loose.

Went and got the fuel line repair kit and the body line kept breaking in half whenever I tried to bend it down enough to chop it with a tubing cutter and get the compression fitting on it. After 2 failed attempts it broke too far back to couple with the section from the repair kit. Took another trip to the auto parts store and finally repaired it by replacing the whole section of line with a piece of 3/8 rubber fuel injection hose and double clamping all the ends.

The piece I'm talking about goes a short distance from the supply line of the pump coming down off the tank where it joins the pump's line as a small section of rubber hose using the same fitting on the fuel filter. It then turns back into a hard body line and travels 2 - 3 feet where it screws into the fuel filter. To make everything work I had to cut this piece of line at the rubber section then couple it together with a piece of 3/8 rubber hose fitted to the barbed end of the fuel line repair kit.

Where can I buy this line from? Preferably STAINLESS STEEL.

Nylon 12 tubing is their direct replacement for the steel lines. You need to find a distributor in your area as they do not sell to the public. Give them a call and they may be able to direct you.

Those steel lines are probably no longer available at the dealership. Your other option is the junk yard. Which entails taking out the muffler, the gas tank, and then disconnecting everything.

At that point I would probably get that kit or look at getting teflon coated steel braided hoses. Russel's or Earls. Maybe do an AN6 conversion or even AN8 and start prepping the car for nitrous.

See this instruction for Mallory's fuel rail kit. Their suggested fuel line sizing at the stock 3/8 or AN6 size restricts the motor to 500HP.

That sucks though what happened.

Inline Tube.

I bought all new Fuel and return lines as well as a complete brake line set from them recently for my iroc. See my build thread for pics.

I have been buying lines from them for years. Very good work and fast!
