Car will run, but won't idle. Help needed.

Hey,
So I recently bought an '87 IROC-Z Camaro with a 305 TPI v8 it. I had blown head gaskets so I tore the engine apart with a mechanic friend of mine and did a full gasket swap on the car. The car ran fine before this other than overheating and leaking oil. We got it all put back together, but now we can't get the car to run without giving it gas and it won't idle obviously. We have the timing adjusted just right and we unplugged the MAF and it sounded even worse. I'm pretty sure everything is hooked up and secured down properly. Also, I got the heads resurfaced and got a valve job. The car has sat for three weeks now if that makes a difference. I changed the oil and coolant. It seems like she's running rich. I've got coated headers instead of an exhaust manifold. My exhuast system is fairly new. The battery is fairly new. The spark plugs seem good. We have the timing top dead center towards the first cylinder. We didn't fully take the injectors out and replace the o rings. We only unplugged them. We left the fuel rails on the intake manifold and didn't mess with the EGR. All the gaskets are new and in place. The fuel lines are tight. I just don't know what it could be. I need it up and running soon though to drive to work. Any ideas? I'm seventeen. This is my first car and I've already got close to 3,500 in it. Your knowledge and help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It really could be anything, but start at the cheap stuff. Vaccum lines, see if any are un plugged, or missing. Check your Throttle Position Sensor and Idle Air Control Valve. Check your injector connections and see if they were plugged in correctly and in the right order. Get a volt-o-meter out and check the resistance on the injectors. All this can be done in an hour or so and any one could cause running issues.

NP, I had the hardest time getting mine to idle, I threw parts at because no one had a good concrete solution. I put a new Distributor, Control Module, Plugs, Wires, IAC, TPS, Vaccum lines and lastly I found out (after looking here) that the injectors were probably trash, and go figure, after the car warmed up, the impedance dropped to 2.4 and 3.2 on the two that were bad. I bought some Bosch 3 injectors from southbay and it ran AWESOME, till I bent a rod... so now it is getting redone completely.

Aww man. That sucks. The annoying thing for me is that I bought the car and after driving it for two days found out the head gaskets were blown so we got that all replaced in the matter of a couple weeks, and now I still can't drive it. It's just frustrating and tough to have patience.
