Hard Start, Code 34, and Fast Idle Help
Hard Start, Code 34, and Fast Idle Help
Hi,
Working on friends 1986 Camaro Iroc Z with the 305 TPI motor. When first got it, it would not start or if it did couldn't even get out of its own way. Car has set for several years and been abused before from the looks of things. So far I have done the following, new cap rotor plugs and wires, replaced the harmonic balancer since it was the wrong one, replaced the timing set, replaced water pumps, replaced egr valve and egr valve temp sensor that was broke, replaced the upper intake gaskets, replaced the o2 sensors, replaced the broken coolant temp sensor, rebuilt the fuel pressure regulator, and replaced the MAF. Now with all this done, the motor will run smoothly at idle and will smoke the rear tires now. However I still have a code 34 that will not clear even when the battery is disconnected over night. Also when the car sets for more then a day, it does not want to start. It cranks and cranks and hits and misses and then finally starts. Once it has started for the day it will start the rest of the day without an issue at at all just like it should. I would appreciate help if you guys can give it cause I'm sure there is something that I'm missing but I'm not seeing what it is right now.
