I'm starting to gather information for a 350 swap into my 1991 RS and am frankly overwhelmed by the amount of information on here surrounding the various aspects of the swap. My question to everyone here is if I'm off to a good start in compiling a parts list for the swap.

So far my list includes:
1.) Shortblock off of craigslist
2.) Performer RPM intake
3.) Holley carb 600-650 cfm

When it comes to matching heads and a cam I am lost. My goal is about 300-325 RWHP and reasonable mileage. I'm not looking to take the car to the track often. All I want is a fun car to drive when I get home from college. My budget is around $3000-$3500 so if anyone is able to help out with some suggestions or could point me in the right direction is would be much appreciated.

 

Short-block assembly is worth no more than $200, if it's '87-up with the provisions for factory roller lifters. You can't choose heads or cam until you know what pistons you're using, and which style of cam the block will accept.
