help

Hello, Im new to this site. I have a question about the fuel pump. the psi shows about 45 to 50 psi. But when i drive the car the psi drops rapidly when i give it gas. any help?
the car is a 1989 firebird

how rapidly?? and what does your FP drop to?? mine sees around 30-35 psi @WOT.

It should in fact GO UP when you give it gas.

Should be something around 38ish idling, and 43ish at WOT.

If it drops when you give it gas, then it's probably also stumbling, has no power, etc. etc. which is why you're measuring it in the first place? (most of us don't just get a wild hair between our cheeks and up and watch the FP while driving around, for no reason at all... although certainly not ALL of us)

What did your old fuel filter look like? did a bunch of rust or gunk or anything come out of it when you changed it?
