84 carb car w/in-tank pusher pump, where is the relay that controls it?

I've got an 84 that had the in-tank pusher pump added to it. I replaced my in-tank pump some years back with a 255lph wahlboro unit but ran an external fuel pump relay to power it. I'd like to use the factory harness but I have no idea where the relay in the engine bay is. I do know that there was no fuse in the fuse box at the time I did the change over so the pusher-pump wasn't operational. When I did the swap over, I did put a fuse in the fuse box to see if that would give me power to the connector but it didn't. So more than likely the relay or the wiring is bad...I'd like to start with the relay.

Does anyone have a picture or good description of where the relay would be? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

On later cars it is by the brake booster

OK, thanks. The relay you have labeled as the fuel relay is the "Fan relay" on my car. But I believe I have a second relay behind it...I'll check and see after work today.

Thanks!

These were taken from an 85 Shop manual for the "G" code 'HO' engine - but the set-up should be the same in your 84.

That should be enough info to ge the system workin' again !

You can ditch the pump relay and just use the OP switch / wiring to run the pump the same way it does stock as the backup to the relay
As soon as the engine cranks over the pump runs and it turns off when the engine dies.

No need for any wiring to the key or extra wiring as some do with carb swaps

Thanks for the photo! I'll take a look at mine tonight at home, but I'm pretty sure that's the fan relay on my car. However...there are two of those relay's. I'll take a picture tonight and post what mine looks like.
