Fuel Injector Problem... I Think
So i have been trying to get this engine started for a while now and here are the symptoms...
-Motor turns over and there is spark on all plugs
-Timing is set correctly
-Motor fires and i can hear it wants to go, but it doesn't
-Has fuel pressure
-when i removed plugs to check compression all cylinders had above 140 psi
-When plugs were out and i turned engine over i can see a spray of gas coming out of the drivers side spark plug holes only
-When i pulled the plugs out the drivers side only the drivers side plugs are wet and passenger plugs are bone dry.
Could this be a wiring thing or what? Also there is a performance chip in the ecm (i didnt buy it) so should i try and change it with the stock one? also fuel pump is working, i can here it. What should i do???

Re: Fuel Injector Problem... I Think
The proper next step in troubleshooting would be to obtain and learn the use of a "Noid Light" . This will tell you if all of the injectors are receiving a spray signal from the ECM . If only one bank of injectors has signal , there are two fuses in the fusebox to check , marked "Inj 1" and "Inj 2" ... If all that checks out and still no fuel to the cyls , next would be an Ohm check of the injectors , with the follow up call to South Bay injectors for some new ones when the ol Multecs turn up DOA .....

Sounds like half the fuel rail may be clogged Injectors could be clogged. On youtube there are many videos showing you how to check injectors about checking power through the injector wiring, resistance on the injectors, and fuel being delivered through the injectors too..
The performance chip may be fine, but if you have the stock one with you, you might as well swap it back in, at least for now until you can diagnose the problem.
Wires/connectors could be loose on the injectors too or be frayed/cut up/melted...
And like 'init4fun' said definitely check the fuses.

Re: Fuel Injector Problem... I Think
They are brand new vortex injectors out of the box, so i think it probably has to do with the fuses. If the plugs are out should you see fuel spraying out of the spark plug holes? I'll check the fuses when i get home...
Re: Fuel Injector Problem... I Think
Injectors with low resistance can cause the ECM to shut down the bank, eliminating any fuel pulses. One low-resistance injector can shut down the bank. If the new injectors you installed were somehow inadvertently supplied as "peak/hold" type injectors that would be a problem. Many later engines used these, so it's possible one got mixed in by error.
Check fuses first, then test resistances of the injectors. If you have a 'noid light or can borrow one, that may help diagnose the ECM and wire harness, but you can also unplug all the injectors on the "dry" bank and connect one at a time to see if fuel sprays.
