crankshaft timing gear help

i got a 1962 327 im working on and havent got to the timing gear yet it has a single chain timing gear for the crank my 350 that im swapping my parts over to the 327 has the double roller timing chain was wondering if the crank timing gear on my 350 will fit on the 327 and whats ur opinions on single or double? and which one would u recommend i havent had any problems out of the double roller so far

Yes the same timing set fits 327 & 350. Which is why they're listed in the books as 1955 - 1995.

I prefer either a stock-style Link-Belt chain, or a GOOD double roller. Basically, if it calls itself "double roller" but costs less than about $50 the set aka "truck roller", it's NOT "roller" at all, but rather, bushings. They are GARBAGE. They "stretch" (actually, wear) about 3 times as much and as fast as a Link-Belt, and 10 times OR MORE as fast as an actual "roller".

If you can be more specific about EXACTLY what it is you have, BY PART #, it won't be hard to identify its true nature. If you don't have that, might as well toss it and get one YOU KNOW is good, unless this is just some sort of throwaway motor in the first place.
