TPI or Carb for me?

I know this subject has been talked over thousands of times and I have read the pros and con's of each, but I can't decide which is the best option for me. I have a 85 z28 TPI car with no engine. I have a 350 and 700r4 in my garage. I have a complete TPI system sitting here as well but I have no clue what condition its in, all I know is it was supposedly on a running car when I got it, and the runners are a little dinged up. Now this is just going to be a temporary engine to drive the car while I buy a house, move, and collect my LS swap parts so I'm really not looking for anything special. So is it easier and more cost effective to switch over to carb, or mess with the TPI system and get it going? I have none of the parts to make it carved BTW, so that's part of the cost effective part of the equation. And I'm not familiar with TPI systems at all, never owned or worked on one before.

IF its complete AND in good shape AND all the wiring and sensors and relays are there . it would be easier to get together and running. but if any of these things are missing or boogered up . THEN you have a problem.

It looks like its all there. Is there a wiring diagram so I can check it out? Also is there a way to bench test the injectors?
