Intake gasket and running strange
We just changed the intake gaskets. The valley had so much engine sludge in it it was crazy.. But my dad put the distributer on it and didnt set timing or anything. Before it idled around 1000rpm now it idles at 500rpm and when Im driving down the road it feels like its slipping on water and making noises like im down shifting if I'm not on the gas.

Get out a timing light, check for vacuum leaks.

Yes the little black ones. Go to an auto parts store and get a bunch of vacuum hose and replace them. Also buy a timing light
