no power steering?

When I am driving my car, there is no assist from the power steering. I just switched to serpentine set up and installed a u joint steering shaft. The pump does not leak or make any noises. Should I be looking for a bad pump, something with the steering shaft, or possibly air in the pump?

did you reuse your v belt ps pump? as in ,you swapped pulleys? if so theres your problem .as they only work one way. if not .then the flow control valve in your steering gear may be faulty.or maybe its out of fluid???

Re: no power steering?

I used the correct serpentine power steering pump. The fluid level is full too.

Re: no power steering?

PS pump always turns CW; doesn't matter which belt style.

Sounds like the pump you have is fornicated somehow.

Re: no power steering?

take belt off and see if you can pull the pulley away from pump, I have seen the shafts break and will turn pulley but not the pump
