fuel pump prime

I did a v6 to old skool v8 carb swap on 91rs and now when I hit the key the fuel pump doesn't prime. I haven't tried turning the motor over to see if the oil pressure bypass works,(afraid of messing something up) when apply power to relay orange and ground to grey it runs (FP). what else do I need to check or fix? I did not cut any wires (yet)

Re: fuel pump prime

absolutely no power anywhere in FP relay harness. not on org, green/white, grey, red on none of them with the key on or off, the FP fuse is in good shape. ohm between the grey and black and got .2 tried to measure voltage and got nothing. I know that I am not the only person doing or have done a 3.1 to 5.7 swap and ran into a wire problem what could I be missing? appearantly there is something either not hooked up or not grounded I just need to be pointed in the right direction. oh when I connect 12v power straight from batt. to grey the FP kicks on and keeps running as long as key is on. this is stock wire harness and nothing has been cut (not purposely)

Re: fuel pump prime

don't know if I found problem but check this out: http://www.austinthirdgen.org/mkport...on_V6_vinT.jpg its the wire going from the batt. to the junction block . it sounds to simple to be true but I cant remember seeing or connecting that wire. and if it isn't connected it looks as though it would cause the entire gambit to not be powered so I will be going home to check for that wire as soon as I get home.

Re: fuel pump prime

I was wondering why no one responded to this thread and now I know why and thank you! TGO is a place not just to get answers but to also learn. and when I did not get an answer I went on a hunt and learned how to use the search key. found wiring diagrams and learned how to read them. and at the end I found the problem it was a loose wire that feeds the junction block it came loose where it meets the battery because it was put together by a rookie that did not crimp it good enuff when replacing the POS. battery cable and then wrapped it up in plastic heat shield and did not see it. I think I'm going to upgrade my status from rookie to novice or semi experienced because I'm learning a lot. thx.
