AFR 195's Comp Beehive Springs and Pro Magnum Roller Rockers
I am looking to upgrade my AFR's with the Beehive springs recommended for my camshaft. Also, I am going to be swapping to ARP 7/16" rocker studs and comp cams pro magnum roller rockers. Anybody running a set up like this? I just want to make sure that all these parts will work with each other. Thanks

I believe i had those studs in my afr's with promag rockers but afr 8019 springs. They should play nice with each other

Is there that much of a difference between the PAC and the comp cams ones?

Yes! comp cams used to source their beehives from PAC. Many years back. Great springs. Then comp changed suppliers and had problems with beehive breakages. They changed suppliers again and so far i think they are working out. Havent heard a problem in a while.

Would the PAC springs be a good choice over AFR's upgraded springs as well?

Xfi lobe i like 8019 afr upgrade springs but pac has a few beehives that would work. 1218 is kinda borderline i would maybe do the 1219's for abit more load capability

Is the beehive design worth it to swap to. I've heard the design gives a lot of advantages. If not maybe i'll just do the afr upgrade.

I'm probably going to end up purchasing the AFR upgraded springs. The springs that I have in now have a 1.290 diameter and the upgrade ones have a 1.270 diameter. Will my retainers fit the new springs? If so do I just swap the new springs in and I'm good to go?

Re: AFR 195's Comp Beehive Springs and Pro Magnum Roller Rockers
Yes the 1.29" retainers fit the 1.27" spring. The 1.29's are the 8017's which come on most AFR 195's for hyd rollers. The upgrade is the 1.27" 8019 spring. I did that same exact swap and just reused the 1.29 retainers. I sent the 8017 springs back to AFR and they charged me 100$ for the upgrade springs. Not a bad deal

Re: AFR 195's Comp Beehive Springs and Pro Magnum Roller Rockers
I did ended up going with the afr 8019 springs but now am worried they might not be the correct "match" for my cam and lifters. The beehives that comp recommends are rated at 125 @ 1.800 and 367 @ 1.100. The afr's that I got are 155 @1.810 and 433 @ 1.160. Are the ratings too much for my cam and short travel lifters?
