speedo questions
Hey guys been a long time since I've been on anyways got a few questions. First off the other day I was driving my car and I took off kinda hard and my speedo stopped working I was wondering what could have caused this.. when I had my new gears put in I also had that the drive gears in rtf he tail shaft of the tranny replaced as well to adjust the speedo. Cold one of these broke? Also related to this I plan on changing my stock gauges out to auto meter ones. The question I have here is that I have installed a 383 stroker and switched to a carb should I use a mechanical speedo or an electric one?

Re: speedo questions
The ecm in those years cars buffs the signal from the vss. I'd get under the car and check to see if there are wires that have melted or been ripped off. It'll be on the driver's side of trans. The vss could possibly be bad. If all else fails you can just get a speedo interface and hook it all back up bypassing the ecm.
