New gas, new battery, change the oil, change the brake fluid (if the wheels don't bleed, change the rubber hoses too) and make sure the rotors & drums aren't rusted solid to the frictions, drive it SLOWLY around A VERY SHORT DISTANCE (like up and down the driveway about 20 times), then VERY SLOWLY around a short distance near its resting place without any hard acceleration or other "enthusiasm"; take it from there.
Prolly will need a dist cap, rotor, & spark plugs shortly after beginning to run.
Don't be too surprised if the carburetor, and the rest of the fuel system for that matter, is SERIOUSLY messed up. Dried-up varnish, dissimilar-metal electrolysis corrosion, and so on.
The original carb model is M4ME.

Thanks so much for responding, sofakingdom. All that you advised has been done. My husband has been working on it for a while now. As I mentioned carb. rebuilt about 2 yrs ago. Apologize for any miscommunication on my part. Is there any other advise you can give us. Thanks again for taking the time.
