Had to replace the water pump on my 88 v6 2.8L. Come to find out the power steering pump bracket was broken in 3 pieces. This piece is apparently the unicorn of parts and I've been told that GM discontinued the part entirely and doesn't make it anymore. There was 1 on Ebay for $245 and $15 shipping and I thought that price was absurd so after a week of no luck I found one at a local (Santa Rosa, CA) salvage yard called "Camaroland." He pulled the bracket out of a vehicle and I paid $100 for it. Did I overpay or is that a normal price now that it's such a hard part to find??

 

Yeah, you should have gone to a regular junkyard. Or You could have gotten it cheap here in the for sale threads.

 

I went to pick-n-pull and called another one and neither had any third gens. I'm new to this site so I didn't know there was a classified section.
