My son and I removed our engine and tranny today, we were losing coolant (guessing head gasket) and tranny fluid leaking badly (700R4) probably seals.

Since this is out, we were thinking of trying to add some extra power (on a budget) thinking new cam, headers, Y pipe, cat back. Not sure what to do with the 14014416 heads? looking for some good ideas from other that have been through this. Looking for specific products/ part numbers... and advice.

Transmission we may have reuilt, seals replaced, shift kit etc.

also considering the feasibility of just swapping engines.... what would be best. Please help.

 

its gonna be cheapest to rebuild what you have. the 416 head is not a bad design. I use them. I would put a cam in it, with a set of springs, and learn how to port out the factory tpi setup.
